Recently examples of supply chain solutions implement by Containerlift include:
• Establishing a total container supply chain solution for an importer bringing in over 4000 40ft containers per year in to the UK. Carrying out all customs clearance formalities, container releases from the quay and the transport of the containers from the quay to the distribution centre for discharge and the final empty restitution of the empty containers.
• Spearheading all negotiating with the shipping lines on behalf of the customer to ensure the best deals for the customer. A dedicated rail services was established backed up by Containerlift’s road vehicles ensuring every booking time at the distribution centre was met. The overall management of shipping container movement resulted in reduced unit transport cost, improved delivery performance at the distribution centre and a dramatic reduction in additional costs.
• Organising and controlling a container movement by rail of 45x20ft shipping containers containing waste from Liverpool to Italy. All licensing obtained for the movement through the Channel Tunnel and final delivery to the quay in Italy.
• Delivering to the ground 40ft shipping containers to over twenty different locations across the country. Vans collect second hand clothing in the local suburbs and fill the containers ready for export to the Middle East. Once a container is full Containerlift deliver a new, empty container and collect the loaded container to deliver to the port. Freight forwarding is organised for the containers through to the port of destination.
With the containers delivered to the ground the shipper can turn any plot of land in to a loading point whether it be a supermarket car park, lorry park or church car park. At ground level the container can be easily loaded and is secure.
