We continue to support The Agoonoree Scout Camp for another year!

Containerlift is proud to be associated with The Agoonoree Scout Camp as they host another Scout camp for those with disabilities.  The first camp was held in the summer of 1947 and the Special Needs Scout Groups of Greater London have been holding what is now called, Agoonoree camps ever since. The camp is run entirely by volunteers, is always held the last Saturday in July for one week and is available to special needs Scouts aged 14 -23 years old.

Containerlift is well aware of the impact of the charity and the support it provides to young adults and their families – “Our involvement began many years ago when they needed help to move a container full of the equipment needed for their camps.  We have been moving their containers to and from their camp sites every year so these camps can continue and many young adults can experience the fun and excitement that these camps provide.”

With the camps run on traditional Scout lines, activities include hiking, training activities, games, sports, swimming, sailing and climbing, as well as a trip to the shops or seaside and most traditional to Scouts; camp fire building.

The Agoonoree Scout Camp was founded to enable Scouts with disabilities to enjoy a summer camp. The camps are held at a different location each year and have recently camped near Reading, Leicester, and Tunbridge Wells. The sites used are usually schools that can offer a large field to camp in, indoor accommodation for those who are unable for medical reasons to sleep under canvas, lots of showers or baths, and if possible a sports hall and swimming pool.  The camp this year is taking place in Leicestershire. www.agoonoree.org/
