With 40ft shipping containers onboard, three of our drivers recently completed a truly epic project delivery to the southern coast of Morocco, deep into the Western Sahara, just 100km shy of the Mauritanian border. That’s a 2,800 mile round trip – each!
The journey took almost five weeks, thanks in part to the legendary customs delays in Tangiers. Along the way, they endured 49°C heat, battled dust storms, and, in true Containerlift spirit, made a few friends — including local Moroccan truckers who extended a warm welcome.
During one of their 45-hour rest breaks, our team were invited to a driver’s home where they swapped high-vis vests for traditional Moroccan robes, and even spent an afternoon driving camels instead of trucks. Don’t they look great!
It was a project to remember — not just for the distance and conditions, but for the stories, the friendships, and the kind of surreal moments that don’t usually feature on a job sheet, but definitely belong in a film script.
